Wisteria sinensis 'Blue Sapphire' is a vigorous, deciduous climber growing to approx. 9 m tall & wider than 8 m. Stems twine anti-clockwise.Produces many very fragrant, soft blue-violet flowers in dense, hanging racemes up to 25-30 cm long in late spring/early summer often followed by seed pods. Flowers from a young age & is loved by bees in warm or bright weather. Any reasonable moist but well-drained soil in sun/part-shade. Hardy but needs a sheltered position.
