Smilacena racemosum or Maianthemum racemosum AGM

Smilacena racemosum is well deserving of its award.  Fragrant plumes of creamy-white flowers are produced at the ends of green leaves.  Summer flowering.  The stems arch and it looks like a Solomon's seal but it is pest free. An evening stroll around your garden is rewarded with its glorious perfume.  One of Cath's favourite plants. Although it is not meant to grow on lime it grows wonderfully well in our garden on a limestone outcrop.  Just make sure it has enough depth of soil.  Part-shade in any reasonable soil not too dry.  Approx. 45-60cm tall clump former.
