Polystichum setiferum (Divisilobum) 'Herrenhausen' is a hardy soft shield fern that is semi-evergreen. New green foliage uncurls in spring to show long, intricately divided fronds up to 1 m x 1 m spread. Grow in any reasonable moist but well-drained soil in full or part-shade. Will grow in a sheltered or more exposed position. Ideal for woodland gardens. Protect crown from excessive winter wet. Provides a sheltered habitat for foraging birds & small mammals.
