Polystichum polyblepharum AGM is a hardy, terrestrial, perennial, evergreen fern bearing shuttlecocks of lance-shaped, 2 pinnate shiny dark green fronds covered with golden hairs when they unfurl. The pinnate lobes are oblong & ovate and have spiny toothed margins. Approx. 60-80 cm tall x 90 cm. Well-drained, humus-rich fertile soil in full or part-shade. A beautiful fern when the hairs are caught by the light in spring. Provides a wonderful habitat for foraging birds & small mammals.
