Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Tom Thumb' AGM
Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Tom Thumb' AGM is an extremely attractive shrub. Unusual bronze-purple coloured glossy leaves are evergreen making this an outstanding shrub for winter interest but also for interest year round. New growth is light green contrasting well with older leaves. Foliage turns darker as leaves mature. The colder the weather the darker the foliage. Also produces small flowers but grown mainly for foliage. Can be lightly pruned if necessary but tends to grow naturally into an attractive dome shape. Ideal for the border or larger container. Extremely hardy as originates from New Zealand but foliage will damage with colder north or east winds.
If planting in a container it is best to double pot so that the roots do not easily damage in severe winter weather.
