Hydrangea macrophylla 'Magical Allegretto' is a compact, multi-stemmed mop-head variety growing to approx. 150 cm x 150 cm. Abundant vibrant red flowers fade to green & reach 8'' (20 cm) across. Makes a dramatic statement all summer into winter. Easily grown, good cut flowers can be dried. Any reasonable soil in sun/shade. If necessary prune mid-spring or just tidy up removing dead flower heads & cutting back to first pair of strong, healthy buds. Plant flowers on current season's growth. Can also be cut back dramatically to base in spring & 1 or 2 older stems.
