Eupatorium maculatum 'Phantom' PBR
Eupatorium maculatum (Atropurpureum Group) 'Phantom' PBR (Joe Pye weed) has been bred with the smaller garden in mind. At approx. 60cm tall it is much shorter than its relatives. It is a superb plant for late summer colour and is attractive to butterflies, bees and other insects so ideal for your wildlife garden or natural border. Attractive large flat heads composed of lots of small dusky, rose-pink flowers in late summer above attractive reddish-purple stems. Easily grown in sun or part-shade in any reasonably moist soil.
Looks good planted in drifts or individually in your border. Could be planted with Japanese Anemones, Aconitum varieties and grasses to give later season interest to an area of your garden.
