Eryngium 'Big Blue' (Sea holly) Attractive to bees, butterflies & birds

Eryngium 'Big Blue' has candelabra-like stems with large electric blue thistle-like flowers on blue stems.  Flowers start grey and mature to blue.  Flowers can be cut and air dried.  A beautiful variety for a sunny, hot or well-drained border or gravel garden.  Does not like wet feet in winter so needs good drainage.  Flowers June-September.  Approx. 80 cm tall.  Good growing among grasses & Crocosmia. Flowers loved by bees & butterflies (see the bee in the photo) & the seed heads are food for birds.
