Athyrium japponicum 'Crested Surf' is a hardy, clump forming, deciduous fern native to Eastern Asia. Produces beautiful arching, triangular, bi-pinnate fronds which have double-crested tips. Fronds are silvery grey-green & reddish-purple at the centre. Reaches approx. 60 cm x 75 cm spread. Moisture retentive, neutral to acid soil in full/part-shade. Attractive foliage in spring, summer & autumn. Provides a habitat for foraging birds & small mammals.
