Agastache 'Black Adder'

Agastache 'Black Adder' is a superb plant.  We think that this is one of the best plants recently introduced. It is a clump forming deciduous perennial with smokey-lilac flowers opening from dark purple buds over a long period from July to October. Approx. 1m tall or taller so good at the back of a border or planted to make a statement. Fantastic at attracting bees and butterflies. Best in sun in a very well-drained, soil. Can be cut back to encourage a second flush of flowers.

The plants in our own garden have survived this past winter without any protection.

It mixes well with other plants of similar colours or with contrasts.  Nepetas with their lilac-blue flowers and silvery foliage, Echinacea in pink or white forms, Coreopsis or Anthemis.
