Magnolia 'Elizabeth'  AGM is one of the best yellow flowered Magnolias. It is a deciduous, pyramidal tree producing masses of large, cup-shaped, slightly fragrant, primrose-yellow flowers up to 20 cm across  in April-early May. Flowers can last up to 4 weeks. Flowers fade to cream as they age. Glossy leaves emerge bronze, mature to dark green then turn golden-yellow in autumn. As leaves fall smooth grey bark & furry buds are revealed giving winter interest. Large growing to approx. 10 m tall x 5 m spread. Sun/part-shade in any reasonable moist but well-drained not too alkaline soil.  Can grow in wet or poorly drained soil. Hardy but needs shelter from cold winds.
