Acer palmatum 'Anne Irene' PBR (Japanese maple)

Acer palmatum 'Anne Irene' PBR is a slow growing, small, upright  tree reaching approx. 3 m x 3 m in 5 years making it ideal for a smaller space or small garden. Five lobed, toothed leaves emerge lime-green in spring, turn yellow-green in summer with red edges finally turning orange-yellow in autumn. Produces inconspicuous red flowers in spring followed by red & green winged fruits in autumn. Any reasonable, moist but well-drained soil in part-shade. Hot, dry air, cold winds or late frosts may cause scorching to the leaves. This tree has shallow roots so mulch well in autumn to protect the roots from both the cold & drying out Hardy but plant in a sheltered position.
