Physocarpus opulifolius 'Red Baron'

Physocarpus opulifolius 'Red Baron' is a hardy, deciduous shrub with attractive red stems & dark red foliage. Produces pinkish-white flower clusters in early summer which mature to provide small red fruits. Grows to approx. 1.5-2 m x 1.5-2 m. Any reasonable (not alkaline), fertile well-drained soil in sun/part-shade. Best leaf colour in sun. Can grow in a sheltered or more exposed position.
