Daphne pontica AGM

Daphne pontica AGM is a hardy, small, rounded evergreen shrub growing up to about 1 m (3' 3'') tall x 1.5 m (4' 11'') spread eventually. It produces leathery, glossy leaves & clusters of fragrant yellow flowers in pairs in spring. Flowers are often followed by black berries. It dislikes being moved after planting. Best in humus-rich, well-drained neutral to slightly acidic soil in part or deep shade. An annual mulch of leaf mould or garden compost will help to keep the roots cool. Water well for the first year after planting until it is well established & then only in dry spells. Could grow in the border or large pot.
