Coreopsis 'Lightening Bug' is a compact, hardy, deciduous, herbaceous perennial with masses of flowers that virtually cover the plant. Daisy-like flowers are golden yellow with ruby-red eyes. Long flowering from late spring through into autumn if cut back after first flowering. Approx. 25-30 cm x 37 cm spread. Easily grown in any reasonable moist but well-drained soil (even sandy) in sun. Will tolerate poor, stony soils. Will also tolerate heat, drought & humidity. Virtually pest & disease free. Attractive to bees & butterflies. Deer resistant. Plants look great when planted in the border, when mass planted or when planted as a specimen in a pot.
