Caltha palustris AGM

Caltha palustris AGM also known as kingcup or marsh marigold is a marginal, aquatic perennial bearing bright waxy golden-yellow flowers in spring with kidney-shaped, glossy, dark green leaves. Prefers shallow water or bog conditions in full sun so can be planted in damp ground, bog gardens or watersides. Approx. 10-40cm x 45cm. Creates an attractive splash of colour around your pond area either as an individual plant or in a drift. 2 litre pot.

Caltha palustris looks good naturalised and also look s attractive when planted with bog primroses and polyanthus or evergreen grasses with yellow, green or bronze foliage.  If the soil is moist rather than boggy it is also complimented by Brunneras, Lysichiton(this can be invasive) and Ranunculus 'Brazen Hussy'.
