Allium 'Avatar' (Ornamental onion)
Allium 'Avatar' is a deciduous, herbaceous perennial which grows to approx. 35 cm x 30 cm spread but can reach up to approx. 1 m tall. Round-headed flowers are pink with hints of purple & red & last from May-August. Attractive seed-heads give the plant winter interest if left on the plant or can be cut & dried. Any reasonable well-drained soil in sun (loves acidic soil). Mulch in early spring. Lift & divide every 3-4 years.
