Polystichum setiferum Congestum Group or Polystichum Congestum is a hardy, attractive, perennial dwarf-growing evergreen fern. Upright & low growing with overlapping and congested fronds. Approx. 30 cm x 30 cm spread. Ideal in humus-rich, well-drained soil in deep or part-shade. Carefully remove any dead or tatty leaves before new leaves unfurl in spring. Ideal for the rock garden, woodland planting, a shady border or container. Provides a good habitat for foraging birds & small mammals.
