Polystichum munitum AGM (Sword shield fern) is a tall growing terrestrial, hardy, evergreen fern bearing narrow lance-shaped leathery pinnae dark-green fronds forming shuttlecocks. The pinnae are linear and spiny toothed. Approx. 90 cm tall x 1.2 m. Fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil in deep or part-shade. Easily grown & provides a good habitat for small mammals & birds.
