Potentilla fruiticosa 'Bella Sol' PBR Recent introduction (Shrubby Cinquefoil)
Potentilla fruiticosa 'Bella Sol' PBR is a relatively new deciduous shrub which flowers late spring & all summer from May - August. Initially the flowers are a rich orange colour then they take on an attractive yellow glow as they mature making them two-toned. Grows to approx. 75 cm x 1 m spread. Plant in sun/part-shade in a poor to moderately fertile, well-drained soil. Easily grown, low maintenance & hardy. Tolerant of drought once established. Can be trimmed after flowering cutting older stems to base & removing all weak, spindly growth.
Can be planted at the front of a sunny border, rockery or in a container. Goes well with Iris, Lavender & Kniphofia.
