Iris germanica 'Benton Pearl'

Iris germanica 'Benton Pearl' is a deciduous, clump-forming, rhizomatus herbaceous perennial.  Bred by Sir Cedric Morris an artist & crafts man & named after his home. Upright, strap-like green foliage & erect stems bearing white flowers flushed pale pink with yellow beards in late spring & early summer. Approx. 50 cm -1 m tall in 2-5 years. Moist but well-drained soil in sun. Hardy & can grow in sheltered or exposed positions. In drier soils dig in well-rotted manure before planting. Mulch in spring.
