Callicarpa 'Pearl Glam' is a compact, deciduous, upright shrub with attractive dark purple foliage from spring to the first frost. Produces small, white flowers in late summer (attractive to bees, butterflies & birds) followed by abundant clusters of violet-purple berries in autumn. Berries remain on after leaf fall giving winter interest. Reaches approx. 120-150 cm x 90-120 cm spread. May experience some die back in cold winters but will regrow even from the ground still flowering & fruiting the same year. Full sun in any reasonable, fertile well-drained soil. Adaptable to different soils but prefers a fertile, well-drained soil. Low maintenance. Rarely bothered by deer. If necessary prune or trim in spring & remove any dead wood. Grow as a specimen plant, in a mixed or herbaceous border or as a hedge.
