Ilex aquifolium 'Handsworth New Silver' AGM is a dense, compact, evergreen shrub or small tree with unusual purple young shoots. Changes to dark green leaves mottled grey to 9 cm long then broadly margined creamy-white. Small white flowers in spring followed by red berries. Any reasonable soil in sun/part-shade but better leaf colour in sun. Hardy & can grow in a sheltered or more exposed position.
