Wisteria brachybotrys 'Howick'
Wisteria brachybotris 'Howick' is a hardy, deciduous, anti-clockwise twining variety with leaves up to 35 cm long. Scented, lilac & pink flowers are carried in hanging sprays 10-15 cm long in summer followed by velvety, bean-like seedpods up to 20 cm long. Grows to approx. 8-12 m tall. Shelter from cold winds. Any reasonable moist but well-drained soil in sun/part-shade. Grow up a wall, arch, pergola or sunny house wall. Can be grown into a large tree.
