Kalmia latifolia 'Peppermint'
Kalmia latifolia 'Peppermint' is a medium-sized, evergreen shrub originally found in the Asian mountains. Pentagon-shaped white flowers with a deep red stripe across each petal from late spring to midsummer. Up to 1.5 m tall in 5-10 years. Likes normal to acid soil in sun/part-shade. Can grow in a pot in ericaceous compost. Can grow in a sheltered or more exposed situation. Low maintenance. Hardy.
