Hydrangea macrophylla 'Blue Ballad' is a compact, deciduous, rounded shrub growing to about 1.5 m x 1.5 m in 5-10 years. Can be grown in the border or pot. Ideal for the smaller garden. Glossy, dark green leaves & large blue lacecap flowerheads from mid to late summer. Hardy but needs a sheltered position. Any fertile reasonable soil, moist but well-drained in part-shade.
