Gentiana 'Little Pinkie'
Gentiana 'Little Pinkie' is a hardy, semi-evergreen perennial if planted in a sheltered position. It will grow in more exposed positions but might lose its leaves. A compact, cushion forming plant growing to approx. 15 cm x 2 m spread in 2-5 years. Rosettes of narrow, ovate to lance-shaped, dark-green leaves & short stems of trumpet-shaped purple-pink flowers from early summer into autumn. Plant in full sun in neutral to alkaline soil (not acid) that is moist but well-drained in any position. However the plant may need some shelter from hot, midday sun in areas with warm, dry summer weather. Ideal to plant in gravel gardens, rockeries, front of the border or in a container. An easily grown, low maintenance plant.
