
Cornus alba 'Kesselringii'
Cornus alba 'Kesselringii' has striking deep purple-black stems in winter and spring. An architectural plant giving interest in the bleaker months of the year. Dark green leaves give good autumn colour. Creamy-white flowers in April-May followers by white fruits. Approx. 1.5-2.4m tall. Contrasts well with other Cornus varieties or lighter coloured/yellow evergreen shrubs. 3 litre pot.
Prune in spring when necessary and to keep good coloured stems. To keep height prune a third to half plant at at time. Best in sun or part-shade in any reasonable soil not too dry.
