Aster 'Pixie Red Eye' or now named Symphyotrichum is a hardy, deciduous, herbaceous perennial producing small. deep-red flowers with soft neutral middles in September & October. Grows to approx. 55 cm tall. Easily grown in any reasonable soil in sun. A more mildew resistant variety. Attracts bees, butterflies & moths & insect eating birds if left standing until spring.
