Syringa vulgaris 'Sensation' is a small tree or large, shrub growing to approx. 3.5 m in 20 years.Deciduous. Fragrant, reddish-purple flowers edged in white in late spring/early summer. Loved by bees, butterflies & moths. Any reasonably fertile, humus-rich well-drained soil in sun/part-shade. Doesn't like strongly acid soil. Mulch if planted in full sun for best flowers. Attractive to bees, butterflies & other insects. Hardy. Low maintenance.
