Herb

Genus: Mentha

Species: spicata

Mid-green pointed leaves with serrated edges with small purple/mauve flowers in summer. Prefers moist, well drained soil in sun or shade. Ideal for tubs and pots. Good for mint sauces and jellies. Good with vegetables and salads. Approx. Ht. 60cm. Mint is invasive, so if planting straight into the garden it is advisable to sink a large bottomless container into the ground and plant the mint into the centre, to inhibit the spread.
