Slowly spreading perennial grown for its architectural foliage. Ideal at front of border, in a container or mixed with other grasses to provide a contrast. Mid-green leaves turn deep blood-red from the tips almost to the base. Narrow spike-like fluffy panicles of silvery-white in late summer. Any reasonably well-drained humus-rich soil in sun or lightly dappled shade..When young a winter mulch helps in cold winters. Approx. 40cm x 30cm.
