Vitis coignetiae 'Claret Cloak'

Vitis coignetiae 'Claret Cloak' has deeply cut, purplish-red, young leaves, turning green in Summer before changing to wonderful Autumn foliage in reds, pinks, yellows and oranges. Requires a large amount of space and looks best when left to ramble over a fence, wall or through an old tree. It needs support on which to climb and attaches itself by means of tendrils. It produces white flowers between May and June, but they are usually hidden by the foliage. They do however have a delicious scent, that can be detected from some distance. 12m x 4m. Sun or part-shade in moist, well-drained soil.
