Allium schoenoprasum
Allium schoenoprasum is a clump former with green, cylindrical leaves with purple globular flowers in summer. Best grown in rich, moist soil in a fairly sunny position. Leaves and flowers have a mild onion flavour. Leaves are a good culinary herb. Cut flowers when they are fully open before the colour fades for use in salads and sauces. Approx. Ht. 30cm.
Can be grown in pots, herb garden, gravel area or naturally planted area.
