Stipa tenuissima

Stipa tenuissima

Stipa tenuissima otherwise known as Nasella tenuissima is an attractive grass and easily grown.  It is a touchy feely grass with blonde seedheads that sway gently in the breeze.  Clump forming.  Approx. 60cm tall.  Keeps its colour well into autumn especially if well-drained in sun or part-shade.  Can self seed but easily removed.  Lovely planted in drifts with Echinacea or in any herbaceous, mixed or grass border.  Also looks good in a mixed container as it adds another texture.
