Astrantia major 'Princesse Sturdza'

Astrantia major 'Princesse Sturdza' or Masterwort is a newer variety with exceptionally large umbels of attractive pincushion-like white flowers with green tips.  Astrantias flower over a long period and can be cut fresh and also dried for winter displays.  Can also be deadheaded to promote more flowers.  Easily maintained in any reasonable, moist soil in part-shade or sun. 

Great for any mixed or herbaceous border or waterside planting scheme.  Approx.  50-60cm(24")  tall x 45-60cm(24") spread.  Also looks good naturalized under light, open trees.  This variety is native to Austria.

Looks good planted with Geraniums for early summer interest and Anemone japonica for later summer interest.
