At this time of the year the nursery is always looking good with lots of plants in flower.
Just a quick note this time as life is hectic and I'm off to the nursery in a short time. The nursery is looking very good just now with lots of plants just coming into flower. For drier borders the wide range of Achilleas look good with some of the new varieties flowering or coming up to flowering including the new Tutti Frutti varieties. Salvias are also looking good with their erect stems of light or rich blue flowers and are selling fast. The Eryngiums are starting to flower and turn colour already with all the sun we've had.
For those with more shade the Astrantias are flowering well with new varieties such as 'Florence' and 'Princess Sturdza', the latter reputed to grow flowers up to 3" across when established. The Actaea although not yet in flower are looking great with their rich purple-maroon foliage. Thalictrums also look great at the moment with some flowering and some varieties still to flower.
Why not pay us a visit soon as we are off to Hampton Court next weekend and a lot of plants will be taken to the show. Once we've sold out of a variety that's it for the year I'm afraid, so don't leave your visit too late! If you can't visit then don't forget you can order online or ring with an order as the nursery is open every day.
