Another Gold medal awarded at RHS Tatton Park Flower Show
We were all thrilled to be awarded another RHS Gold medal at Tatton Park Flower Show for our display in the Floral Marquee.  The display looked extremely colourful and was created to look like a garden at this time of year with a combination of Acers, ferns, grasses and many different herbaceous perennials.  The front of the display, created by Kate, showed drifts of Agastache and grasses growing through gravel.  Agastache are wonderful plants for insects with their tubular flowers.  They are commonly called Hummingbird mint in America.  Their fantastic aromatic foliage is also an added bonus and does tend to repel deer from eating the plants.  plants are available with flowers in colours of pale apricot-orange, pinks, red and lilac-purple to darker purple-blue shades with Agastache 'After Eight' also having wonderful chocolate-green coloured foliage.

Pink and blue flowered Cicoriums, pink Sidalceas and Veronicastrums were combined in the more pastel areas of the display.  Rich red Astilbe 'Montgomerey' next to bright yellow Hemerocallis 'Lemon Bells' and other yellow-flowered varieties flowers provided a zing in other areas of the display.  Heleniums also added to the colour combinations, lovely plants to take the garden from later summer into autumn.  A new variety Coreopsis 'Cosmic Eye' with yellow flowers circled with a deep red ring flower along the front of the display.
